Jones: Gustafson got easy fight to protect rematch

Alexander Gustaffson gave Jon Jones his stiffest test to date in their title fight, and many fans and media were hoping for an immediate rematch. Gustafsson will however fight Antonio Nogueira before earning another title fight, but Jones thinks the bout is an easy one to protect a rematch:

"I was like 'Really? You want him to have the rematch that bad?' No disrespect to Nogueira, but let's see Gustafsson versus Cormier. It makes so much sense. Me, Cormier, Gustafsson and Teixeira, the top four guys in the division. Let's put us all in a little round-robin pool and see who is the toughest out of us four. Why throw Little Nog into the picture? But whatever, I'm gonna fight the toughest one anyway."

Except it's only about 10 babies on the UG who cry about him saying "stupid shit."  He said the guys getting title shots are not fighting each other.  That is 100% true.  The current top guys are Gus, Cormier, Glover, and Davis.  None of them are currently fighting each other and the only time it happened was Gus/Davis and that was 3.5 years ago.

What do you mean, like one more fight? You think that a rematch is neccessary until the desired result? What if Gus wins the next one in a close decision, do we run it back then too? How about we give everybody a chance to compete for the belt if they deserve it. You make it sound like Jon has the ability to put a fight off longer than the next win when he doesn't, the fans make the fights based on what the UFC wants. I don't get it.

I wasn't implying that he was a coward. I'm not sure what you inferred. I was stating that he has on numerous occasions tried to distance himself from Gus. He has stated that he easily won that fight (come on now) or that Gus should have a harder time getting back to him. This isn't tucking (like Tito), this is him going out of his way to try and put off fighting Gus for as long as possible.

Deserves = most money to be made. Not based on merit.

It WAS Rashads fight but he got injured so they passed it to him. Totally different...

You didn't just speculate all of that, did you?    You might as well just call Jon Jones a coward instead of just inferring it.
