Hendricks did not tap in the first round

Early in the first round of their fight Saturday night, GSP secured a front headlock, and was working towards an arm in guillotine. A number of fans thought they discerned Hendricks tapping out.

He didn't. While the video may have glitchched for a moment, or someone tweaked the gif, or Hendricks may simply have been hesistating, it was defending, not tapping.

The submission was not in place to cause a submission, GSP released the hold only to continue what he considered a more effective striking attack, Hendricks continued defending seamlessly, and in short, it was not a tap.

Hendricks (15-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC), who ultimately suffered a controversial split-decision defeat to welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (25-2 MMA, 19-2 UFC), was reeling after Saturday’s pay-per-view event at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The challenger clearly thought he won – and nearly all cageside media members agreed – but ultimately St-Pierre claimed the victory via 47-48, 48-47 and 48-47 scores.

This is a great example of a thread that outs complete fucking morons (Mushroom Slap for instance).Observe Hendricks elbow position, and how much of GSPs weight is on it. If you look at this "tap", or arm moving because you're bracing moving weight, you'll see it happens as GSP is already letting go of the not-even-close-to-threatening headlock.GSP didn't at all react like he had been tapped to, because NO TAP WAS MADE.

His elbow is on GSPs thigh pushing off to make space and his hand is doing what hands do when you push off with your elbow. That being said, I still had Hendricks 48-47

It looked like he was in the begining stage of tapping but GSP releases the hold just before he does.
