WSoF challenges Bellator to winner take all PPV

World Series of Fighting (WSoF) matchmaker Ali Abdelaziz appeared on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour, and announced an audacious challenge to Bellator MMA.

WSofF is not yet ready for PPV, and Bellator's intial foray suffered a broken spine, but the idea is that a head to head match up between the two could earn money and PPV. And the proposal is that winner takes all.

Abdelaziz proposed:
Tyrone Spong vs. Quinton Jackson
Anthony Johnson vs. Attila Vegh
Andrei Arlovski vs. Vitaly Minakov
Marlon Moraes vs. Eduardo Dantas
Yushin Okami vs. Alexander Shlemenko
Rousimar Palhares vs. Douglas Lima
Justin Gaethje vs. Eddie Alvarez (or Michael Chandler)
Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Daniel Straus
Jon Fitch vs. Rick Hawn
David Branch vs. Brett Cooper

While the idea sounds at first impression like a publicity stunt, there have been co-promotions in MMA, in the US and in Japan. K-1 and DREAM co promoted Dynamite!! events, and Strikeforce and EliteXC have exchanged fighters.

So what do you think UG? Is it a good idea? If so, who is it a good idea for? And would there be any profit to take all of?

I got Carl beating palhares and Carl nearly stopped Lima in the 1st round so I wouldn't discount the kid too much. He's got everything in his corner, the pressure is on his opponents to win even though he is champ, almost like a wsof Weidman

What do those fighters have to do with anything? None are listed in the above proposed card.Bellator puts on way more shows than WSoF, even if they do their proposed 12 this year.

You do realize if Invicta and WSOF merge you will become the #3 org in the US. Good news is you can fight with RFA and Legacy at that point to remain relevant.

So you are telling me that Cheik Kongo, Lavar Johnson, King Mo, Joey Beltran, Tito Ortiz, Rampage, Houston Alexander, Kendall Grove, Paul Sass, Terry Etim, etc... got their names from fighting in Bellator?WSOF is building their roster and will be the clear #2 org by the end of this year. You can argue Bellator has better depth but once the Invicta merger happens and they expand the roster due to the number of shows they are promoting in 2014 they will be the clear #2.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rampage said he got a bionic knee implant before the fight.

I don't think so. This sounds like an easy fight for Rampage. Spong isn't experienced in MMA. He hasn't fought anyone notable yet.
