Son of UFC CEO, Nicco Fertita earns full ride to Notre Dame

Success may just run in the family for Nicco Fertitta, who's Dad is the billionaire owner of the UFC. Today Fertitta announced on Twitter that he was offered a full ride to Notre Dame University to play football:

We already know Lorenzo Fertitta is a billionaire a couple times over with Station Casinos and Zuffa. And the UFC CEO’s oldest son, Lorenzo Jr., was a star football player at powerhouse Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas and now plays for Villanova. Well, as it turns out, Nicco, Fertitta’s middle child, might actually be better on the gridiron than his brother.

Nicco, who also plays at Gorman, received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame recently – a full ride, he tweeted – and he already has offers from the likes of Hawaii and Boston College, according to The recruiting service has the 5-foot-11, 200-pound Nicco ranked as the 30th-best safety in the country and a three-star recruit. Not too shabby.

“It’s a great feeling for sure,” Nicco told Scout. “Notre Dame is a big-time school and it just kind of shows that all the hard work I’ve put in is paying off. I’m not looking to make an early commitment or anything right now. I’m still open to every school and haven’t even thought about cutting my list down but the offer from Notre Dame is definitely a big one for me for sure.”

Those kids have the life. They can study, train, go to school, do whatever, not a worry in the world. Its cool to see them continually make something out of it though. Even though the fertittas were born in to wealth, they still parlayed in to a continuing fortune. They also helped to make those around them rich too. Dana is rich because he was buddies with the fertittas. Not taking away from the hard work they have put forth to create the ufc and its market. Its a lil bit easier though to start something big when you have billions of dollars of seed money. Cant fault them for that though.

When Nicco walks down the stairway and views the "Play Like A Champion Today" sign there are several ways he may approach this to play his best:1.) He may poke the sign with his fingers if he decided to play like JBJ.2.) He might spring off the stairway wall and knee the sign if he decided to play like Pettis.3.) He might do some hip-shaking celebrations after touching the sign if he decided to play like Renan Barao.4.) He might call the sign "That disrespectful piece of s..t!! if he decided to play like Chris Weidman.5.) He might night even touch the sign if he decided to play like Ronda Rousey.

I can imagine a college being more apt to give a full ride to a billionaires kid (donations?) than just some smart/athletic kid who's dirt poor

Good for him!Even tho his daddy could buy his way through 100 college terms, while on his yacht in the middle of the ocean

I graduated from ND. Dullest atmosphere I've ever been to ever. Stern faces, muzzled mouths and everybody looks bored. At other schools the girls are generally prettier and happier.

Notre Dame seems to give high profile father's full rides from time when you wouldn't expect it. Both of Mike Golic's son's went there on football scholarships. His daughter went there on a swimming scholarship. Cris Collinsworth's son is now there on a football scholarship. The above football players were good high school players, but not the type of players you would expect for a major d-1 school like Notre Dame. They usually get to pick which 4-5 star recruits they want to come to the University. I don't know anything about Golic's daughter, but it's odd his whole family went there on athletic scholarships. Joe Montana's son was there on a football scholarship until it was evident he wouldn't play, so he transferred. I'm sure there are others....I don't follow the program that closely.
