Mir granted TRT exemption for UFC 169

Frank Mir has been granted a therapeutic-use exemption for testosterone-replacement therapy for his fight with Alistair Overeem this Saturday at UFC 169.

The heavyweight fighter today confirmed the news to MMAjunkie. A representative of the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board did not immediately respond to requests for confirmation.

Mir will enter the event on a three-fight losing streak, including defeats to former champion Junior dos Santos, Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett.

I say let these guys pump whatever they inside themselves. you get some amazing fights that way.Or disallow this TRT stuff. It is so obvious that it's for cheats.

It's silly that a lot of ppl put this on the ufc. I also think it's funny that ppl say the ufc turns a blind eye towards it when overeem fought for years at other beloved promotions without getting caught. How long did it take him to get caught after signing with the ufc? I read someone say that Mir has been popped before, is this true? I can't remember.

"What's the problem with being caught if you can get an exemption."The punishment set by the ACs was the fine and suspension.

I wouldnt be surprised if tons of fighters secretly take perks to deal with the pain of constant training.

It's tough to root for either fighter in this, for me. They both have had some significant failures in very important moments of their careers. Hopefully it's an exciting fight.
