Former welterweight Johnson returns to UFC in light heavyweight division

Anthony Johnson had ten fights inside the Octagon, but struggled making the 171 pound limit for the welterweight division. After losing three of his five inside the cage, John was released by the promotion.

Since his release Johnson has gone on an impressive six fight streak, fighting at heavyweight and light heavyweight, including a win over former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski.

Johnson will return to the UFC in the light heavyweight division and is first fight is already set:

@danawhite: Riding a six fight win streak, Anthony Johnson will make his UFC return against #4 ranked light heavyweight Phil Davis at UFC 172

He never actually fought at Middleweight. It ended up being at a catchweight of 197lbs.

Brilliance of the average MMA fan right there.   Give the guy a fantastic opportunity to knock off a highly ranked fighter in his first fight back in the UFC and people claim its because Dana hates him..

He never fought at middleweight so he won't fight in three different official weight classes, but after this no matter if he makes the weight Johnson will have fought in 5 different weight classes. He has already competed at welterweight as well as catch weight bouts at 177, 176, and 197 lbs. While they aren't official weight classes they were catch weight. Whatever weight he weighs in it will be a 5th weight class whether catch weight or not.
