Cristiane 'Cyborg' Justino passes random NSAC test

Previously having tested positive for anabolic agent, Cristiane Justino is now subject to more scrutiny when fighting in a combat sport in Nevada. Scheduled to fight a kickboxing fight next weekend, Justino was recently the subject of a random test by the NSAC:

A week before her title bout for muay Thai promotion Lion Fight, Cristiane Justino has passed a random drug test requested by Nevada’s boxing commission.

“Cyborg,” a former Strikeforce and current Invicta champ, was screened for performance-enhancers and diuretics, Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman Francisco Aguilar confirmed to MMAjunkie.

On Feb. 25, the commission informed the fighter through Lion Fight’s promoter that she was required to report to a testing facility the next morning by 10 a.m. in her adopted hometown of San Diego. She complied, and the test results were today confirmed.

Regardless, there is a difference between testing someone close to the middle of testing someone and testing them one week before the fight (when many training camps are over)

Thank Zuffa for doing their best to attract the lowest common denominator over the past few years.

The things I have read in this post really make it hard to follow this sport these days. What is wrong with mma fans?

I retract my last statement except for the part about GSP being right. Things need to change.

This. The AC are fucked up. They want to appear as if they are policing but they have a vested interest in fights happening. Everyone knows how cycles work so you should be able to time when you randomly drug test to catch someone if they are using. Pathetic. GSP is 100% right.

You're right she isn't significantly smaller in terms of muscle mass. It's just that as with all fighters you are going to look a tiny bit bigger or a tiny bit smaller from fight to fight depending on how the weight cut goes.In her fight with Coenen, Cyborg was actually the same size she had always been at 145 it's just that Coenen had put on muscle which made it seem that Cyborg had gotten smaller.

She still has two fights at 145. She isn't cutting for 135 yet. Know what you speak of.

Still that is 4-5 weeks from a fight. Test her between fight camps. I doubt she is on rounds if she is cutting down to 135 so I'm not really shocked as that is her natural weight class IMO.
