Dan Henderson wants UFC title before retiring

At forty-three years of age, Dan Henderson's MMA fight resume leads like a list of the sport's biggest stars over the past ten years. Last night's win over 'Shogun' Rua proved that Henderson still has what it takes to compete against the best and he is hoping that he can still work his way to and win a world title fight before he's done for good:

"That's the last goal of mine and the last thing I need to achieve in this sport is getting that UFC title. I've had other titles, but that UFC belt still eludes me. I'm still after it and I feel like I'm still capable of doing that. There's so many guys at light heavyweight now and half the fans are asking me to go down to middleweight, so I'm really open to anything."

Ah, he entered the cage as a LHW as ever. He pissed out the water that brought him up to 207 by then.

I would like a threesome with Sky Lopez and Nikki Benz before the day is through.

I think his opponent made him look better in your eyes. He looked more on point, but that's as compared to a visibly slower Hendo. Yes, Shogun would look like a monster in the cage with me, but beating me doesn't mean he's back to form or on par with the elite of the division anymore. Just as beating Shogun doesn't put Hendo any closer to the title, I don't think. I won't cut him or Hendo any slack when it comes to the pecking order of the division, even though both guys are high on my list of favorite fighters ever. As a comparison, I saw BB King perform recently, and my man is a shell of his former glory. He should keeping touring, performing, getting paid fat stacks for as long as he wants. But when we crown the best new blues of 2014, he shouldn't be on list.

While I agree shogun has declined, he looked great last night before that monster shot. You act like he couldn't put away some scrub like yourself, it was dan fucking Henderson. Cut him some slack

Agreed so give him his one last far shot at the 205 title and if he losses badly tell him he needs to retire. Just give him his shot. It's a shame he missed his first one and now he's old and getting older by the day, jones is only getting better
