THIS ive been saying this for 2 months now, Glover had 1 shot and that was to land a right hand, thats it..he did it and Jones took it and kept fighting and went on to basically humiliate Glover in a way..Jones was trying out new techniques against Glover, it was ridiculous..Glover had nothing else but his power and i must be the only one underwhelmed by the title fight as it went exactly as i thought, only i did think jones would finish him.. Gus might beat Jones, i think DC has a solid chance..love to see an Aj/Jones showdown.. its going to take a tall, fast explosive striker with top wrestling to beat Jones..not too many of those guys around..

I feel bad for Davis. He never talks shit and Dana goes on the douchey rant about how Davis doesn't have the heart of a champion and he's not the type to call out fighters so even if he wins he doesn't really deserve a shot...   Basically, Davis' boss told him to Sonnen or GTFO, and Davis Sonnen'd and then Davis got Sonn'ed

You didn't pay your $60 you greedy fuck, so don't expect hand outs and the right to see a 3 second audio-less animation. What is this? Communist China??!>!!>!?!     (jk of course :P)   Was cool, Miller was getting kept at distance for a good few minutes then he lands this plodding body shot to to the flotating ribs and backs up Yancy. Yancy tries to taunt him a bit to hide the pain and Miller wastes zero time closing the gap, throwing some bombs then immediately trips or throws (can't remember) him to the ground and locks in the sub. Funniest part is Yancy doesn't tap, passes out, then Miller kinda raises a hand, realizes he's still got this dude unconscious on top of him, rubs his head a little, then continues celebrating with Yancy out cold on him lol Then Yancy wakes up with a smile like, sup? lol Had no idea what happened   Anyways, it's actually legal to use small gifs so you can find them pretty much anywhere. If you don't wanna use your google fu just go to reddit mma -- they're a pretty decent, if small, community.

  1. Reach, Jones has amazing reach, particularly with his legs, and the only person who had a style particularly conducive to moving in and punishing the legs imo was Shogun -- who's basically been shot since Pride with the exception of his glorious Machida fights (even rt before that he had a pathetic gas match against a 50yo Coleman IIRC lol and a quick KO of a broken Liddell), and right before Jones he had his 4th reconstructive knee surgery.   You KNOW Glover wasn't going to start tearing up Jones legs at a distance, risk getting taken down and suddenly open up his perennially limited repertoire of strikes. And Rampage is hardly known for leg kicks, not even when he was a multifaceted fighter in Pride, nor was Machida, or Belfort or Sonnen or Gusty. It's a stylistic thing in a lot of ways, and not many ppl can leg kick that well. Certainly not well enough to match Jones who has phenominal kicks and range/speed to throw more complex kicks. Like when he throws a Qmark or axe kick there's still a lag since they're complex techniques, but it takes so long for Glover to move into range he'd usualy just back up then throw it as Glover was plodding forward. Glover almost never had a chance to close the distance before the strike finished, even with how slow those types of kicks usually are   2.Usually his hand is jammed against the opponent's face because of his reach and often times when he's range finding he holds it slightly upright moving in (like a catch/parry), then only bring it down near the face. It's a lot harder than you'd think and would probably tire out the guy trying to blast his hand and only serve as a distraction. I also think it would require straights which Glover refuses, since a hammer fist's motion would leave someone really open to an elbow (which has fucked range when jones throws it.) Like think how Jones does the facemask-facemask-elbow-elbow combo so often with his lead, I think that'd punish the shit out of someone trying a hammer fits motion with the lead (and good luck having the speed to do that with the rear), and it's alot easier to land an elbow or jab then a digit-breaking strike which would need just the right angle lol It's bullshit since he can rangefind with a jab, but until a ref calls it, he won't have any prerogative to stop. Can't really blame him although it's a cunt move   3. For sure, dude's a bit of a prick, but so awesome. I just wish he'd embrace being a prick lol Like if you're going to taunt Glover at the end and start running away with the Ali Shuffle or raising your hands before the end, don't help up Glover and act all respectful before or during the fight lol Just admit you want to punk him, but wtv... that's just Jones having character. The only thing I really hate him for is eyepoking (Although note to Jones and AS and Rory Mac and all the other MMAers who think they're Ali, the Ali Shuffle was ONLY cool because he'd land insane combos after shuffling, you don't shuffle out of range lol),

Only thing that ruined that for me was Jones' filthy eye poking. It's the refs fault just as much, you see him throwing his hand out straight and open (not even upright like it's meant to catch a punch) then you have to give him 1 warning, and if he keeps doing it you deduct the next time he pokes.    Otherwise there's no incentive to stop and the opponent needs to avoid slipping into the eye poke. Really fucking unfair, although it obviously had Zero impact on the fight outcome

Exactly how I expected except Glover's inside game was worse than I thought, largely because of Jones ability to tie up in the clinch and avoid his reach becoming a downside, and except for Glover's chin being even better than I realized.    I eat my words that he had a mortal chin lol (never called him chinny, but Damn, he's not even mortal as far as I'm concerned.    But really, you can't overcome that reach deficit with such limited footwork and speed, especially if you REFUSE to throw a straight. Like I know it's not his thing, but there were tons of times where Jones would put his hand on Glover's forehead, and you could see he was within 1,2 range and maybe a tenth of the time Glover would throw a lazy jab before plodding forward slowly again. Too one dimensional, even for a bully fighter, but especially for a bully fighter in an Octagon with 8 sides and virtually no corners. I mean any Takanori Gomi fans saw how disgustingly bad his boxing game turned when he couldn't force fighters into a corner and uncork his HW strength punches on them -- (obligatory PRIDE NEVER DIE).   If Jones didn't WANT to prove a point and cut up Glover in the dirty boxing Couture-style clinch game, I don't think Glover would've ever even landed the nice hooks he did. Jones really controlled what phase the fight took place and so anytime Glover landed a nice shot, he could also just back up and slow the pace by picking apart glover for another half round or so, before returning to the ditrty box game But anyways, I gotta give it to Glover -- He's got the heart of a champion and some insane TDD
