UFC lightweight Donald Cerrone has a blunt response to fighters concerned about compensation.
“I hear guys talking about they don’t get paid enough,” said Cerrone to MMAJunkie. “If you want to just sign on the dotted line, I’ll be your huckleberry. I’m ready to go.”
Saturday night "Cowboy" faced fellow striker Edson Barboza, winning it in the first via RNC, following a knee buckling jab. It earned Cerrone his 14th 'of the Night' performance bonus. What was going through his mind?
“Two golden words - F@$% IT - came in,” said Cerrone. “I had to turn it on, so it was good.”
Cerrone hopes to fight six times in 2014.
“I’m ready for Baltimore next weekend if that’s possible," he said. "Really, just as many fights as I can.”
UFC president is game.
“If this kid could fight 16 times a year, I’d love to have him on every card,” said White. “He’s a show starter. You’re guaranteed Cerrone’s going to get the show started.”
