White: Johnson can 'never' miss weight again

During his first run in the UFC, Anthony Johnson was plagued with weight cutting issues, missing the limit in several bouts at welterweight and once at middleweight.

Johnson now competes in the light heavyweight division and should he miss that mark, ever, he will be banned from the UFC for life:

Anthony Johnson has already been cut from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ranks once before for missing weight, but if he comes in heavy one more time, he will be banned for life.

That's according to UFC President Dana White (via FOX Sports Marc Raimondi), who told reporters during today's (April 26, 2014) Ultimate Media Day from Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland, that if "Rumble" misses weight for this weekend's (April 26, 2014) UFC 172 light heavyweight fight against Phil Davis, he will be cut and not be welcomed back.

Johnson himself recently told ESPN that he has his weight issues under control and will never again fight in a division lower than light heavyweight:

“If anybody brings up 186 pounds to me, I look at them cross-eyed,” Johnson said. “Honestly, I start feeling sick when I get to 204 pounds. My body won’t allow it. It’s most likely a mental thing but I don’t even want to think about it.”

I remember meeting him when he was fighting at 170. While he wasn't in fight condition he was walking around at at least 215 if not 220s. How the hell he made 170 is beyond me.

Johnson is probably about 220 in this pic but using this to judge weight is stupid. It doesn't tell the whole picture (no pun intended). We can tell Rumble has a much higher body fat and since muscle is more dense than fat, a person with a higher bf% will look bigger than himself at the same weight but with a lower bf%.When it comes to the comparision between the two:-We can't see the legs. Johnson could be much more top heavy than Andrei. We all know the UG doesn't care about legs.-Length of the torso, bone density, frame width, arm length and muscle bellies are all factors that may make someone look bigger than he really is.-Genetics and muscle insertions are important in a person's physique. It's not unusual to see guys with the same height, weight and BF%, but to see one look much bigger than the other.

We've already had a death from weight cutting.  How many more until we learn?  COMPETE AT YOUR NATURAL WEIGHT AND WEIGH IN IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE MATCH.

AJ looked fuckin stressed on the scale. Sometimes those scales are a little off compared to the one they use to make sure with Burt... That would really suck for Rumble if he got cut due to some technicality like that.As it stands, now we have to tense things to look forward to each time he fights... the his weigh ins AND his fights.
