Nate Diaz removed from official rankings

Yesterday in our rankings-Update-5514-Grant-dropped-from-division/" target="_blank">official rankings update, we noted that after almost a year of inactivity, TJ Grant had been removed from the divisional rankings and everyone else moved up accordingly. That was not surprising.

But in what is a surprising move only hours later, Nate Diaz was also removed from the lightweight rankings:

Champion : Anthony Pettis
1     Gilbert Melendez
2     Benson Henderson
3     Josh Thomson +1
4     Khabib Nurmagomedov +1
5     Donald Cerrone +2
6     Rafael dos Anjos +2
7     Jim Miller +2
8     Gray Maynard +2
9     Myles Jury +2
10     Michael Johnson +2
11     Edson Barboza +2
12     Bobby Green +2
13     Rustam Khabilov +2
14     Jorge Masvidal *NR
15     Joe Lauzon *NR

What makes this update surprising is that Diaz has been active, having fought and beat Gray Maynard in November 2013. The removal from the rankings could be because of Diaz's recent issues with the UFC, so we'll wait to see how he replies.

That is a fucking joke, Nate destroys both Cerone and Miller and both are still ranked. Just a game the UFC is using to keep his pay rate down and get him to fight. The UFC has turned into a fucking Boys Club for ass kissing fighters. Absolutely disgusting and because of this bull shit I refuse to buy any more PPV. I bought every fight they put on, didn't matter who was on the card, no more. They need to get the real fighters back on the pay roll and quit playing Boys Club rules with fighters. Just turned into a pathetic clubhouse and DW thinks he is the club leader. I am all done with the UFC until they turn this shit off.

Who in their right mind would favor the UFC over the fighters? There needs to be a balance, the UFC need to make enough money to finance their expansions etc.I'll mostly always side with the fighters thought, currently they need all the help they can get.

Dana. Heres an idea. Pay nick and nate what they deserve. Put on a fucking fs1 show with both of them headlining it .. Put them up against meaningful and great stylistic matchups for both. With plenty of trash talk to lead up ..This is what will get it going. That would be the best free tv card ever. Thise Diaz boys put their heart in it . Fact. Love em or hate em. Money and fortune favor the promoter who takes advantage of the tools he has and maximizes growth.

Not cut, shelved. It's their m.o. when they are pissed at someone. It's their way of saying "we own you".

Rejecting fights doesn't make you not better than other fighters.

Nate is better than the entire bottom half of those Lightweights, but if he is rejecting fights he doesnt deserve to be in the rankings.
