Nate Diaz: I want the Matt Brown fight

Earlier this week Matt Brown said he would love a 'legendary fight' with Nick Diaz, but today Nick's brother Nate responded that he would love to fight Brown:

"I want the Matt Brown fight," Diaz said. "That's what I'm looking for. I'm trying to fight the baddest motherf**kers out there. I'm not trying to fight some lame ass fighter that they're trying to build off of me.

"My brother is retired. So if this guy wants to fight a Diaz, he's got to fight me."

I would prefer it with Nick. Nate hasn't fought at ww in 3 years and lost his last 2 fights at the weight.

i dunno... i think Nate's quite a bit smaller than Brown or Nick. Nate's a tough dude, but until he invests some time in gaining a lot of strength, he's not gonna any better at WW the last time he tried...

Why not. If Dana says Brown gets title shot if he beats Nate he does. Ratings dont determine title shots, money does. Ask Fitch.

I'll watch. Does this mean Dana and Nate are no longer having contract disputes?

I would love to see Brown fight a top 10 fighter. He needs that fight. He's exciting to watch and I think he has a good chance against guys like Lombard and Saffiedine. But I don't see him going much further than that. Just my opinion. I'd also like to see him fight Nate Diaz, but for entirely personal reasons. I feel they're both on the same level and it would be a great fight.

The difference is the welterweight division is full of killers and the most impressive and notable win of Matt Brown's career was a sloppy comeback win against a top 15 fighter. No amount of discussions or fanfare can change that. There are simply too many excellent fighters at 170 who are constantly fighting each other for Brown to skip ALL OF THEM because he had an exciting comeback win.
