Henricks: It sucks being on the sidelines

At UFC 171 Johny Hendricks full-filled his lifetime dream of becoming UFC welterweight champion, but an arm injury has kept him on the sidelines since then. Hendricks is not a happy camper:'

On sitting on the sidelines: “It sucks being on the sidelines, knowing these guys are all fighting to get to me, and I can’t do anything about it,” Hendricks tells USA TODAY Sports. “I can’t train for it, can’t get ready for it. The only thing I can do is sit here and wait for them to battle it out. I don’t like that.”

On Rory Macdonald: “He’s one of those fighters that he can do that to people,” Hendricks says. “I’m not going to talk trash on anybody, but he makes guys feel awkward, But when someone is doing that, hey, you’ve got to know that sometimes you have to eat a punch to deliver a punch. Sometimes you’ve got to say to yourself, ‘I am paid to be an entertainer.’ In my fights it’s not if I get hit; it’s when I get hit.”

On Matt Brown vs. Robbie Lawler: “If Matt Brown wins, that’s awesome because it’d be nice to train for someone new,” Hendricks says. “But if Robbie Lawler wins, I’ve trained for him before and I can do it again and make some corrections. I could also go into it injury-free this time. That’d be nice.”

What by having 2 takedowns and ending the fight with one when he was already clearly winning the last round. That fight was exciting as well. Just standing right in front of each other and trading punches. Wasn't boringHendricks has power that Henderson or GSP don't have so i doubt he'll just become a decision machine from now on

Because I believe it's premature, nothing has happened yet that blew my mind.Contenders and still contending, a few champions defending.

Oh well you said you "rolled on floor laughing" with regards to how exciting the division is. I, and I think many others, think it's very exciting.

You're aware the only difference in the division is that George is missing right? I love how zuffas spin on George leaving is that now the exciting guys he beat/could beat now get to fight over his belt.I always loved ww, but it's the exact same division, watch Hendricks turn into bendo/gsp himself and start decisioning everyone. He already took a page out of George's book against lawler.

You think this is a laughable division compared to others? I thought it was pretty well agreed upon it is the deepest division in the UFC with many exciting fighters? Hendricks, Lawler, Brown, Woodley, Rory, Lombard, Condit, etc...

Don't try to say a division isn't exciting then say you miss GSP

well, he did have a very strong opinion about champs needing to either be active or give up the belt.
