Ask on Twitter and ye shall receive a fight.

After Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone extended his win streak to four in the main event of UFN 45 on Wednesday, undefeated Sambo specialist Khabib Nurmagomedov went looking for a fight.

Khabib Nurmagomedov @TeamKhabib
Lets go, I'm ready, @Cowboycerrone @danawhite @ufc @lorenzofertitta @arielhelwani @dc_mma

Then FOX Sports writer, world observer, and father of America's undisputed No. 1 toddler Mike Chiappetta is reported that Khabib Nurmagomedov will fight Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone at UFC 178 on Sept. 27, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, live on pay per view.

Then just 20 minutes after the fight became public, Kevin Iole reports UFC president Dana White says that Khabib blew his knee out and the fight is off UFC 178 card.

“That fight was done,” said White. “Joe Silva sent the email out, and 20 minutes later, he went into the gym and blew his knee out. Twenty minutes."

Just came to post this. That would be an excellent matchup. MJ is not his opponent for those behind the times.

I bet you $100 Michael Johnson doesn't even land a punch.

Good idea but I don't see Thompson getting out clean against MJohnson, I'd say it could even be an upset

Cowboy and Nate Diaz rematch. Cerrone needs to have some redemption over Diaz

Yes very true. I had a meniscus done around the time of an ACL and you are absolutely right, it is an extremely taxing process.

This and winner gets the next shot. Though I don't think you could get Cerrone to sit out that long if he won.

I know Josh Thomson is scheduled to fight in a week but if he escpes without any injuries and is willing, Cerrone vs Thomson would be awesome and makes sense for the division.
