Career
Roy "Big Country" Nelson is an American Mixed Martial Artist from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a veteran from the Nevada-based Lions team of the International Fight League, training under coach Ken Shamrock. Nelson was a football and baseball player and wrestler in high school, he began his MMA career in 2004. He's won numerous grappling titles and has competed at the pretigious Abu Dhabi Grappling Championships. He also is an accomplished grappler with a lot of good jiujitsu experience but he is adapting to his standup game of late as he's training hard on his striking of late. He suffered the first loss of his career on the second season of BodogFIGHT in St. Petersburg, Russia, losing to Josh "Buffalohead" Curran.
