LAS VEGAS--Four fighters took home $10,000 performance bonuses at WEC 44, general manager Reed Harris announced at the event's post-fight press conference on Saturday evening.

Newly crowned featherweight champion Jose Aldo took home the Knockout of the Night bonus for his second round stoppage of three-time champion Mike Brown.

Team Takedown lightweight Shane Roller took home submission honors for his third round submission of Danny Castillo.

Fight of the Night honors went to Cub Swanson and John Franchi, who waged a three round war before Swanson cinched in a bottom of the ninth guillotine choke. Both banked an extra $10,000 for the showing.

Harris said the event's attendance figures and box office estimate was unavailable.

These guys really deserve to be under the UFC banner earning 75k bonuses.

Closet finish to a KO gets KO of the night... TKO ref stop etc.

Probably just wanted to give him the money, since he put on an amazing performance and is probably underpaid in the WEC

10k bonus is pretty good. Its not like the event was pay per view. If it was like the UFC and it had a big buy rate I might be upset. Its on free tv so giving out a Ufc bonus would not be a smart business plan.

KO bonus should have went to Kamal Shalorus for his goofy-yet-awesome left hook feint - right hook one puncher

10k in US dollards? How much is that now in peanuts? Wat? Not even the shell. Reed Harris not wanting the top WEC fighters getting UFC pay makes as much sense as boxing judges scoring MMA.

$10,000 is nowhere near enough. Merge the WEC with the UFC please, I love getting to see these guys fight for free but I'd pay money every time Aldo's on a card no questions asked. Their paychecks and bonus incentives should be substantially higher.Congrats to the winners, though. They deserve more IMO.
