Mixed martial arts fighter Michael Whitehead was arrested in Las Vegas after one woman accused him of sexually assaulting her and another alleged he tried to attack her following a barbecue party at his home last weekend, police said Thursday.
Whitehead, 28, who competes as "Iron Mike," was booked at the Clark County jail after turning himself in Wednesday to detectives investigating a complaint by two adult female acquaintances, Las Vegas police said in a statement.
A four-count criminal complaint alleges Whitehead sexually assaulted a 32-year-old woman and tried to undress a 28-year-old woman while rubbing against her after inviting the two to sleep in his bedroom following the April 9 barbecue.
The 32-year-old woman filed a police complaint Saturday, and police later served a warrant at a southwest Las Vegas home to seize items from the bedroom, according to a police report filed with Las Vegas Justice Court.
Police also reported finding more than 40 marijuana plants growing in an upstairs bedroom.
Las Vegas police narcotics detectives are investigating the drug cache. No drug charges were immediately filed.
