Yuki Kondo crowned Middleweight King of Pancrase

Yuki Kondo traded up in his interim strap for a full version of the Middleweight King of Pancrase belt with a decision win over Ichiro Kanai at Differ Ariake on Thursday. In the third round, Kondo quickly bloodied his opponent with scrappy combinations, earning him the close decision (30-29, 30-29, 30-29) on all three judges cards.

 it would be awesome if Pancrase went back to the old style rules.......they are a shell of their former self, and at least that would provide something different in the way of entertainment IM ALL FOR OLD SCHOOL SLAPFIGHTS!

The KoP is such a minor-league title now. The drop-off and contrast are almost sad. The KoP once used to be a major championship in MMA (like when Kondo previously held the OW, albeit dubiously, and 199 KoP's). Even up through the early 2000's, its holders were still top-10. Now they generally aren't even top-20 or 30 (Sandro being the most notable exception, of course).
