UFC cuts Loiseau, for the third time

by Ariel Helwani | source: mmafighting.com

The UFC has parted ways with veteran David Loiseau following his UFC 115 loss to Mario Mirando earlier this month. Loiseau's agent Ken Pavia confirmed the news with MMA Fighting Thursday.

This marks the third time since 2006 that Loiseau has been let go from the organization.

Pavia said that Loiseau has not decided whether or not he will retire from MMA, but the 10-year veteran will take some time off to regroup and think about his future options.

Loiseau has always maintained that it's UFC or bust for him, but it appears as though his chances with the organization have run out.

Loiseau is a super, super nice guy and he has had some really great fights especially in UCC and TKO but his performances in the UFC as of lately are worse than pathetic. Good luck in whatever you decide Dave....I'd love to see you a champ one day but if not, become a great coach and pass on your knowledge and skills to some others that would love to be taught by you.

One thing Loiseau can say is he has the hardest, fastest elbows on the ground in MMA.

Loiseau is an awesome guy and is a sick fighter, but there is some truth to that statement I think.I just wish he was able to get to his feet and keep it there. He takes a lot of shots on the ground and gets taken down a lot.Not good for a long career. Especially when the back of your head is hitting the canvas after each punch. If he can make a drastic change in his wrestling and takedown defence, he can be a top contender and be a good fight for anyone. If he can't improve in those areas, he might want to hang them up in my mind. But who am I to say. He can still beat a lot of guys out there.

I hope he gets past his issues and does well for himself. I have always liked to see him fight. I believe that he had his own fight promotion for a bit. I would love to see him get on that and do more with it. Best of luck Crow!

Yeah retire because you can't win the top promotion. Even if his best days are behind him that's no reason to retire, if he can continue to make ok money fighting why not?
