Silva out of UFC 117 bout with Boetsch

With UFC 117 just over a week away, Thiago Silva has been forced to drop out of his scheduled fight against Tim Boetsch on the card due to injury.

The news of Silva's removal from the card was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the situation on Tuesday.

The Brazilian was returning to action for the first time since losing a decision to Rashad Evans in January. Silva has gone 5-2 during his time with the UFC, and it looks like he'll have to wait a little bit longer to try for win number six.

The nature of the injury to Silva was not disclosed, but the American Top Team fighter has had back issues in the past that have hindered his training.

"He beat one of my guys in a title fight about a year and a half ago. He attacked after the bell, and claimed that he didn't know the ref was stopping it (even though the ref was on his back, and he was soccer kicking at the downed opponent)claims to be a striker, but got dropped twice in the fight. he's a bleeder, and his eyes swell up rather easily as well. Most of the damage was done from my guys back.he will stand up in the guard if he takes you down and has good gnp.I hope Boetch smashes him."--------------------------------------------------RAND... this is the 2nd time you post B.S. on these forums about this fight. I was ringside at this fight and remember it very well. There was a video up on Youtube for quite awhile, not sure where it has gone. Your recollection of the way the fight went is very wrong!You begin saying that the ref was on his back while he was soccer kicking your guy... WTF!? There was not a single soccer kick thrown. The fight ended with Todd in the mount. He dropped a huge elbow that made Ron tap out, there was no bell. Todd continued to fight and as the ref stepped in the pull him off the ref slipped allowing maybe 5-6 more punches to be thrown, most of them not landing or glancing off.Todd was dropped once during the fight and only once. As a matter of fact I think it was the only punch that your guy landed the entire night and it was a very nice shot. I guess if you are going to say that he swells up easily it would be fair to say that your guys jaw breaks very easily... which is what you were so upset about anyway. I dont like to see anyone get hurt at any event, but it is MMA and unfortunately that happens. Your guy did admit though that he felt his jaw break the very first round with the very first punch that Todd landed. I was there when he told the doctors that. It was the elbow then from the mount that finished off his jaw and the fight.No disrespect to Ron with anything that I am saying he is a warrior and has earned his respect in the ring but no respect to you for crying about a fight over a year out and embellishing the facts. If you decide to argue this I will find who originally uploaded that fight and get it back up again just to show that you are full of shit.

Wow, again? Thiago Silva should start using Vagisil and move on with his fighting career, just apply some directly to his back, and then he'd be good to go. Sad to see such a "tough" guy puss out like this.
