lol no.  Jon Jones uses wrestling to improve his position and aggresively end the fight.  Rashad uses his wrestling to win points on the judges scorecard.  Jon Johns is generally respectfull of his opponents both in and out of the ring.   Rashad dances around the ring while grabbing his dick.  Jon Jones is a black man.  Rashad is a wannabe thug.  The only thing missing from Rashad is a diamond studded "grill" and his own rap album.

Except he will also be coming off of a long layoff himself...

Some arguments here are so silly.  If he EARNED the title shot, then give him the Title shot.  Fighting someone is not an issue of being scared at Rashad's level its an issue of taking care of his family, his brand and his legacy. If he earned the fight and has been promised the title fight, he should get the fight.  Now if an INTERIM belt opportunity comes along, he's said on more than one occasion that he'd be more than willing to look at that option. Otherwise he'll wait.  C'mon good people. You all are talking about someone who has only lost once here. Once!

Rampage's him wait an year and now this. At least Shogun has a legit issue, rather than taking time off to do a flick.

Brock Lesnar beat BJ Penn? He got face fucked by Carwin for 4 minutes straight and is fighting Cain less than 6 months later. Anderson is also rumored to be on the New Year's card for the Sonnen rematch....and Edgar/Maynard is rumored for the same card as well. If those rumors pan out we will have had 3 155 title fights, 2 170 title fights, 3 185 title fights, 2 hw title fights and 1 iterim hw title fight all in 2010.  The only belts that won't have been on the line 3x are GSPs(because of TUF, yet will still have defended twice in 2010) and Shogun's(because of a serious knee injury).  Where are all these rich guy champs sitting out at that i'm not seeing?

Damn, Rashad fought a Rampage that was coming off of a long layoff, and now he gets to do the same with Shogun.

Stupid, he will be rusty as hell, same for Shogun and we won't get the best fight out of the 2 as possible.

Big fan of Shogun and not so much Rashad, but unfortunately there will be only one winner of this fight. Evans isn't stupid and neither is his camp. He'll use wall n stall and lay n pray for the first 15-20 minutes and either take a lop-sided decision or a late TKO over a badly gassing Rua. Evans really should be the favourite on the betting lines come the week of the fight. If not I'll be having a good bit on.Shogun could have been the greatest if he hadn't have had so many injury problems. For me in his run from 03 to early 07 he's the scariest fighter ever in MMA. The pure definition of a killer. Hope he can come back to somewhere near his peak but it will take a superhuman effort.....I doubt it will happen. He's been in so many wars, not just in competition but back at Chute Boxe with their full on sparring wars.
