UFC 125 set for January 1st

The UFC's traditional year-end show will be a first-of-the-year event with UFC 125 tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 1 in Las Vegas.

A source close to the pay-per-view event today told MMAjunkie.com that the 2011 event tentatively is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The event kicks off a new year for the UFC, which hosts an annual high of 24 events in 2010.

No fights currently are scheduled for UFC 125, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission has not yet added it to the this year's schedule. However, a middleweight title rematch between champ Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, as well as a recently announced lightweight title fight between champ Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, are both possibilities for the card, though UFC officials haven't booked any specific fights for the night's lineup.

The traffic isn't that bad when you know what roads to take...wait a sec...what the hell am I saying? Las Vegas Blvd is a black hole after dawn. Yeah traffic sucks beginning Thursday night through Monday morning every week.Crowds on the otherhand never seem to bother me downtown while walking, but damn them when you step in to a vehicle.TJ IA/Sensor Operator SSgt

Well maybe there wont be as many overly drunk people because they will be too hung over from NYE. Kind of a rough day to put up a fight on IMO.
