Boetsch vs. Davis at UFC 123 in Detroit

Sources today informed MMAjunkie.com that light heavyweights Tim Boetsch and Phil Davis have agreed to fight at UFC 123, and paperwork is on its way.

UFC 123 is expected to take place Nov. 20 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit. A light heavyweight match-up between former champions Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Lyoto Machida headlines the pay-per-view event.

Davis is less than a month removed from a short-notice fight at UFC 117 when he stepped in for injured newcomer Stanislav Nedkov and bested Rodney Wallace on points for his third-consecutive UFC win.

Boetsch recently returned to the octagon at UFC 117 following a three-fight win streak on the regional circuit and bullied newcomer Todd Brown for a unanimous decision.

nice match. boetsch is a really strong and tough dude, this will be a good fight for sure. i think davis takes it though.. he is on the rise

You're an idiot. Phil Davis is one of the top prospects in the sport and Boetsch is an appropriate matchup for him and where he is at in his development.

its nice to see the ufc using their prospects properly. these young guys have talent through the roof but lack experience. this is how you get that. the way jones and davis have been brought along has been on point.

zzzzz? Are you kidding me? Boetsch is also a wrestler but is far more skilled at striking and submission. This is a great fight and a big step up for Davis.

2 awesome fighters from PA kicking the piss out of each other. I'll watch it. Not the most exciting fight for Davis, but let's see what Tim can do.
