Olympic wrester Yoel Romero making waves in Europe

Cuban wrestler Yoel Romero Palacio is a World Champion and winner of a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. This was in just his second MMA fight, versus Michal Fijalka at IFF – The Eternal Struggle. The Infinite Fighting Federation bout took place on October 8, 2010 in Dabrowa Gornicza, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland.

Like I said, he needs to really fix his stance. Cuban wrestlers adopted the Russian freestylers' stances. They lean heavy forward onto their lead leg and they don't bend their lead leg. So they bend at the waist when changing levels. It's effective somehow, in freestyle but it'll get you murdered in a fight. A good striker will kick his melon off.

Romero is a former top level olympic wrestler.He will do extremely well in MMA...with the proper camp.
