Paulo Thiago signs new 4-fight UFC deal

Paulo Thiago has signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC, it has been reported.

The welterweight Team Constrictor fighter was worried about his future with the UFC after losing to Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez but according to Brazilian site Tatame he can rest easy - for now.

“[Thiago’s manager] Wallid Ismail, told Tatame staff that the UFC has renewed the contract of the athlete for four more fights, but did not say when - and against whom - Paulo returns the cage,”

yeah if he losses one more time the '4 time deal' won't matter and they can just kick him out or force him to 'renegotiate' his payhonestly why even sign a contract that says they can fire you any time they want. that's not really a contract.

well first off, i meant WW not MW...2nd. like i said, im not saying he should be cutbut yes, he was manhandled by kamp and diegonot jsut the slam. thiago was done before the fight was over. he got fight of the night thanks to diego beating his ass and if you or anyone else here argues that then you're perceptions of whats goin on in a fight fucking sucks. im not here to argue with you or anyone or put paulo down at all/im just a fan on an internet forum commenting on a failing fighter getting resigned after i have seen plenty of other good fighters meet a much more harsh faitits like the other guy said earlier...they just dont wanna lose him or other decent fighters to SF.mark these words, ufc will "gift" him a complete can in his next fight, bet.

Why would you stress the word badly when it just makes you look ill-informed? I'm assuming your knowledge of the diego fight is based on that one slam gif. He was far from badly manhandled by Diego. In fact, he won fight of the night which definitely helps you to stick around. Also, the UFC tends to be a little more forgiving when you lose to top-level competition. People that get the quick axe after a couple of losses are fighters that lose against other entry-level fighters- not guys taking on contenders. It also has a lot to do with toughness and competitiveness, Paulo has yet to be finished. Speaking of finishes, he's also the only guy to finish Mike Swick in the UFC which is another huge feather in his cap even if you forgot about it because it's not in gif form like the Koscheck fight.BTW, nobody cares about your middleweight rankings. Paulo Thiago is a welterweight.
