Marine denied TUF slot 'again' by USMC

MMA valor has learned from a source that the United States Marine Corps has denied George “Loaded” Lockhart his leave request that would have allowed him to participate in season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter. Lockhart tried out for the reality television show, twice in the past (season 8, and 11) and made it each time until the Marine Corps denied his leave then also.

This news is very shocking and disappointing due to the fact that Lockhart is a Martial arts instructor for the Marine Corps. Lockhart even stared in a commercial that featured the marines that is shown during certain events on spike TV.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship and the Marine Corps work very closely together and fans have even seen some Marines appear on past shows on The Ultimate Fighter. Dana White has been very public about his interactions with the United States Military and even been seen supporting Semper FI clothing.

Heather, let George know that we are sad to see him not make it onto TUF this season, but we've no doubt he'll either be on it soon or straight into the UFC. We appreciate very much his service to the country and look forward to watching him compete in MMA once he is finished with the USMC.

Lockhart is a damn good Marine and he's not trying to "get out by fighting on tuf ". He's about to EAS and he'll be on terminal leave so he didnt think it would be a problem this time. He stated that clearly in his post.

this marine should cry me a river.he signed up to fight this country now he wants to get out by fighting on tuf?they should just dishonorably discharge him and let him have his damn way IMO.not that hes likely to win tuf, like everyone knows.

I am George Lockhart's wife. Just thought I'd share a little, since so much about my husband's character has been subject for speculation.George has been an active duty Marine for 9 years and served 2 combat tours in Iraq. He is an instructor at the MACE, in Quantico, VA. He is the first one at work, going over his classes that he is to instruct. He has been voted "Strongest IT (Instructor Trainer)", by his students, more times than anyone in the history of the MACE.He is often there late to work with Marines/students who need additional help in training and/or making weight. George just recently spent most evenings working with two local Marines who were fighting in a local venue.Once he's done at the MACE, he goes to train, for himself- driving up to an hour away, M-S, with the exception of Fri. ....and don't think he doesn't have "to hear it" from me, sometimes, as I'd like to have him home! LOL However, this man manages to be a FULL TIME Marine, make it to every one of our sonograms (we're pregnant), have breakfast with our girls, and to show up for a quick "pep talk" as our daughter had her first day of tryouts for the all boys wrestling team.I am disapppointed in the Corps decision, not because it'e the "wrong decision', but simply because since this man was a boy, he's wanted to do two things- to be a Marine, first, and to fight. This is a seemingly "unmanageable" life, but he seems to balance and be a source of strength to all who know him.I thank all for their letters and for their words of support. I know it will is in the cards for him. I just have a hard time reading all the uniformed opinions as to his character and committment as a Marine. My husband is a dedicated Marine, loyal friend, an honorable husband, and a loving father.God Bless,Heather LockhartP.S. He might kill me when he reads that I posted this, but I just wanted you all to hear from someone who really KNOWS him. ;)
