Satoru Kitaoka not signed by UFC

Contrary to several Internet reports, UFC president Dana White confirmed with MMA Fighting on Wednesday that organization had not signed Japanese lightweight fighter Satoru Kitaoka.

Kitaoka, 27-10-9, is just 2-2 in his last four fights.

At the moment, there doesn't appear to be any interest from the UFC in signing him.

He does train standup, quite extensively. Trouble is the guy he does so many private lessons with is a taekwondo guy.

 Kitaoka is a guy who could be an elite LW with better training imo. He already has a great top game, very dangerous with leg locks and an extremely nasty guillotine.  On top of that he seems to have big power in his hands for a LW he just doesnt seem to train standup much if at all so his technicque is pretty horrible, that coupled with his cardio problems have been his downfall in big fights. I would definitely be interested in the UFC snatching him up.

They should sign him. Dude has nasty submissions and is a top 20 LW for sure.
