UFC vet James Irvin allegedly tests positive for steroids

UFC light heavyweight veteran James Irvin allegedly tested positive for an anabolic steroid following his loss to Jorge Oliveira at Tachi Palace Fights 7 in December.

Irvin allegedly tested positive for Epitrenbolone, also known as Trenbolone Metabolite. Trenbolone, taken by intramuscular injection, is a steroid typically used on livestock to increase appetite and muscle growth.

Sherdog.com confirmed news of Irvin's alleged positive test on Wednesday with California State Athletic Commission officials.

by the way I believe at one point the discussion was that a UFC fighter had a random test called but called in sick for it, and wasn't forced to do it. There was a lot of rumbling about how if you were chosen just call sick (or injured). But, if you really ARE injured, and dirty, there's no sense in taking the test, that's a good point. you can't fight anyway, and if you don't test you can't be suspended. Although they will revoke your license.I don't know, it's a slippery slope no matter how you slice it.

Diaz had a random drug test and skipped taking it and his fight was canceled. He also noted that since Douglas resigning from the commission, rules regarding drug testing had changed. Douglas said all fighters and managers were distributed information on new drug testing procedures when the new regulation was put into effect earlier this year allowing fighters to be randomly tested at any time.http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=dm-strikeforcediaz081009

and I hate to tell you this, but if your view is so warped that you think random drug tests cripple the sport, I'm hoping most fans think more wisely.and also note that nevada already has a random test rule in place

Since no one knows the facts barnett got busted when he renewing his licence. Which could of been done at anytime. He went in on his own will it wasn't random. So I he was juicing he could of cycled off before getting his Bloodwork done. Why do you think he fought the results and denies taking anything.
