Irvin defies PED suspension, fighting in Poland

Despite a failed drug test and one-year suspension, James Irvin is heading overseas to fight light-heavyweight champion Mamed Khalidov in the headliner of the March 19 KSW 15 event, in Warsaw, Poland.

Irvin recently was pulled from a Shark Fights 14 co-headliner and rematch with Houston Alexander due to his alleged used of the steroid epitrenbolone at December's Tachi Palace Fights 7 event.

The California State Athletic Commission fined Irvin $2,500 and suspended him one year (retroactive to Dec. 3) due to the failed test. He has the right to appeal, and since U.S. athletic commission have virtually no reach overseas, can compete outside of the country.

Khalidov, who originally was slated to fight Matt Lindland and then Thales Leites before the Irvin booking, is 18-1-2 over since an early-career loss in 2005.

You are understimating James Irvin badly. If he comes in relaxed and in top form, he's a threat to anybody. How can you even compare him to Goodman, that is hysterical.Get a clue

LOL you must be joking. James Irvin is a nobody that hasn't been relevant or beaten a decent opponent for like 3 years. This fight is like when Lombard fought Herbert Goodman. Calling it "great matchmaking" is hysterical.

now this is great matchmaking. If Irvin wins, he shows he back and maybe better than ever. If Khalidov wins, he shows he really is as good as some people think.Come on Khalidov, one of the best fighters people dont know about. It would be nice to see him do his thing.
