Brian Stann TKO's Jorge Santiago

source: mmafighting.com

In a beautiful display of powerful striking, Brian Stann pummeled Jorge Santiago and won a second-round TKO on Saturday at UFC 130.

Stann dropped Santiago with a big left hand to the jaw in the first round and had him badly hurt on the ground, and although he wasn't able to finish, he completely dominated the final minute of the round, as Santiago had no answer. In the second Santiago, perhaps realizing that Stann had the better of him in the stand-up, attempted to start the round with a takedown. But Stann had no trouble stuffing it, and he continued controlling the stand-up until he knocked Santiago down, pounded him several times on the ground, and gave referee Herb Dean no choice but to stop the fight.

Brian Stann is a beast, he is a legit contender in his division....Santiago on the other hand, I'm wondering if this isnt another guy who has success outside the UFC but just doesnt translate well into the UFC ?

I'm betting there are some nervous MWs looking over their shoulder right now, not the least of which is Bisping. I'd say Stann just vaulted over him into the low top-10.

esp since its probably the only chant that would be used by its countrymen against another american.

Interesting. Santiago is quite talented and skilled but yeah, he def lacks some major factors.

Awesome job by the fighters from PA last night! Stann's fight was the main event at my house, the other fights were just for the fun of it. As always, great words from Stann after a great performance.

"JeffersonDArcyChoke 25 minutes ago Who the fuck said USA chants are lame? I bet you won't think Brazil chants are lame when UFC heads to Rio. I hate how chanting USA means "redneck" but chanting Mexico, cheering for Croatia for Cro Cop or chanting Brazil is more than acceptable. Fuck you. I personally feel they are ALL ugh since it's a fight for one man not a battle for a country but most ASSHOLES are cool with country chants unless it's USA. only then it's "lame". You are lame if you are like this." ................this times a million!!!
