UFC 132 Cut List: Who needs a win to stay?

by Ben Fowlkes | source: mmafighting.com

No one needs win at UFC 132 worse than Tito Ortiz. Then again, we said the same thing at UFC 121. He lost a decision there and managed to hold on to his job.

Tito Ortiz
Who he's fighting: Ryan Bader
Why he's in danger: Ortiz doesn't have a win since 2006. As White put it: "Dude, it's 2011. He's got to win."
Odds of getting cut: Even.

Aaron Simpson
Who he's fighting: Brad Tavares
Why he's in danger: The problem is a couple defeats matched with a few less than inspiring wins.
Odds of getting cut: 4-1.

Andre Winner
Who he's fighting: Anthony Njokuani
Why he's in danger: One more loss and Winner will have the dreaded three-fight losing streak on his hands.
Odds of getting cut: 2-1.

Anthony Njokuani
Who he's fighting: Andre Winner
Why he's in danger: Njokuani rolled right into the UFC with a decision loss. Fortunately for him, that loss came in a thrilling effort that earned him a Fight of the Night bonus. Even if he doesn't get the win against Winner, he'll probably get one more chance to shine.
Odds of getting cut: 5-1.

Underground News is clearly keeping the bar high with it's worldly threads again.

I don't like these threads. These fighters have families. Getting fired from your job is a difficult thing, no matter what you do. These fighters don't need people speculating whether they deserve their job or not.Reporting on who gets cut after the fact, is news worthy. Speculation is not.

no because if he loses he'll be 2-6 in his last 8 fights...and if he gets knocked out..oh boy. not good.and again, every fighter needs a win. simple semantics here.

agreed. This is someones livelihood. Imagine somebody writing an article about the possibilities of you losing your job for your entire family to read. Little focked up, eh?

um. EVERYONE on the card needs a win. Thats the reality of the sport.Tito, needs to win the most. If he loses, he'll either have to retire with out winning a fight in 5 years or he'll fight in a much smaller show like his buddy Ken. & I hate to say this..but if Wanderlai gets KO'd or loses a lopsided fight. I don't see how a guy who has lost 6/8 deserves the contract he gets. I love Wand, but its the truth.
