Melvin Guillard calls out Jim Miller

source: mmaheat.com

" I don't really pay attention to the rankings all the time. I thought things were going to blow up after I KOed Evan Dunham. And then stuff kind of got quiet.

"Everything was good tonight but when they got another UFC next week and then another lightweight goes and do something spectacular, you guys are going to forget about what happened tonight. It's all about what happens in that moment. So next week somebody else is going to deserve to be right up there."

"Whenever I get my shot, I'll get it. I'm patient. Jim Miller, definitely, that's the fight I want. That's a fight I need to get. I need him to stay undefeated, though, for me to fight him."

Miller has a great chin and a great submission game.  He beats Melvin.

Melvin is twice the fighter he was now that he fights with a gameplan. But I'd like to see how he does when he faces some adversity, when someone puts it on him. Will he revert to his old self?

Melvin has looked impressive, but I think Miller would win.  Should be a great fight if it happens.

Like him or not, can't deny he has a helluva highlight reel.

Exactly, Melvin was his own worst enemy and lost because of his own mental hiccups. When gets his composure together, he's nearly unbeatable.

I like Guillard against any of the UFC LWs right now, including Edgar. His speed alone would give all of them fits. And, by what he said pre and post-fight, he's got his life in order and seems to have matured significantly under Greg Jackson's tutelage. I expect we'll see big things from Melvin going forward.

i've been watching guillard like i was watching jon jones back in end of 09/begining of 2010.to me it's obvious this guy is gonna clean out the division just like jon jones is on his way of doing.i'm just surprise so few people notices his superiority. like he's top 3 imo, but in the rankings i'm sure he's top 10.he'll be holding the belt within march next year for sure.
