Howard = from US and there are plenty of other US fighters the fans can cheer for....aside from Bisbing, Hardy may have the 2nd biggest fanbase from across the pond...that my friend = more $$$$

Might have to do with who he's beaten too, Howard beat Hallman after not doing too well up to that point, his other wins were not very notable. Hardy beat Gono, Swick and Davis who were somewhat hot prospects at the time.
