Pat Curran used a spectacular head kick to knock out Marlon Sandro Saturday night and win the Bellator Fighting Championships Summer Series featherweight tournament.
Four minutes into the second round of what had been a good, back-and-forth fight, Curran exploded with his right leg directly across Sandro's face, knocking him flat on his back and out cold. Curran pounced and landed three punches on the ground, but those were unnecessary: The head kick was what did it.

Bellator was Awesome last night.the konrad vs buentello fight was frustrating but i had a feeling that one would be. it gave me a lot more respect for Konrad though, if he keeps at it he's young enough to really evolve into a very dangerous HW.and holy shit at curran, he's going to be serious trouble for pitbull/warren.sandro needs to work on his game planning and he'll be back i think, Bellator has a crazy FW division.congrats to the UG fighters who won tooBELLATOR!!
ya i suppose. it sucks pitbull got injured to delay things even longer, but hopefully when the next season starts and the events are weekly again things will speed up. lack of a UFC size roster doesnt help either.
This. Their tourny matchmaking really clogs up the pipes. Lombard has been champ for years and has had 1 title defense, it's like Strikeforce and Alistair all over again, except Lombard has taken 3 non title bouts in Bellator and 5 bouts outside of Bellator since winning their strap.
