Kimbo Slice may be done with MMA but he's finding success against the lowest level heavyweights boxing has to offer.
Tay Bledsoe entered the ring with a 2-3 record having won his first two bouts and then getting knocked out in 1:18 of the first round, 1:35 of the first round and 0:55 of the second round.
The other area that the promoter Gary Shaw and son "Skala" seem to be focusing on aside from a tendency to get knocked out is finding small fighters to stand across the ring from Kimbo. His first opponent, James Wade, weighed in at 205 pounds to Kimbo's 227 and Bledsoe was 209 to Kimbo's 244.
Very true. However I think touting Kimbo as a great boxer because of these two wins is obviously premature. Good for him getting the W, but I have a feeling when he faces a cold calculated counter puncher he will all of a sudden look like he training took place in a back yard.....
Correct. The guy didn't even have a true amatuer career, he was in a backyard.
I honestly thought the Kimbo bashing would stop when he left this sport but I should've know better.
If anybody with potential enters MMA again they need to check Kimbo's story. Dogged from day one even though he was a decent fighter. Don't enter this sport unless you know what the fans are like.
That's not how it works in boxing...that's not how you build experience, confidence, and ringmanship...this is NOT MMA.Just saying you don't know anything at all about boxing and be done with it.
