Scott Jorgensen was the aggressor early on taking the fight to Curran with crisp boxing and leg kicks. Jeff Curran was unable to get his game plan going, being forced to play defense for much of the fight. Jorgensen utilized his wrestling to control the fight scoring with big slams and takedowns. He was able to survive and scramble out of dangerous situations when Curran threatened with a submission.
The judges scored the fight 29-28 for Jorgensen who is now 2-0 in the UFC and still one of the elite fighters of the division. Curran will hopefully get another shot at the UFC but his best years are obviously behind him. He may be better served as a coach for up and coming midwestern fighters.
