Rampage vs. Bonnar a possibility

source: mmamania.com

After Stephan Bonnar beat Kyle Kingsbury Saturday night, he was asked an obvious question - "Who is next?"

"I've always wanted to fight 'Rampage' Bonnar replied. "You know, I've got a few wins now and maybe (I can) get a big name (next)."

Rampage texted Dana that that works for him, too.

"Rampage texted me tonight," UFC President Dana White related. "And said he wants to fight him too. I don't know. We'll see."

While the two fighters appear at first glance to be at different levels, Rampage is coming of a crushing loss to Champion Jon Jones, and Bonnar is now 3-0 his last three fights.

Rampage wants to fight on the UFC 144 fight card in Japan, which takes place on Feb. 26. The three months allows enough time for Bonnar to recover, and maintain his fight condition.

So the fight is doable. The decision rests now with Joe Silva and Dana White.

This. Plus Stephan is always ready for a war. I don't think people realize how big Stephan is. He'll have a decent reach advantage on rampage. When Page can't box he gets frustrated. Stephan puts on exciting fights. He won't back down from anyone. Maybe he didn't get the finish on Saturday but he dominated Kingsbury. If Bones Jones couldn't finish Stephan I think Rampage would have a hard time doing so. If Stephan takes this to the ground he'll win.

I would not mind seeing Rampage vs Hendo II in Japan.

Bonnar is a stud, and he could decision Rampage for sure...but. I think he gets really beat up standing and won't get/keep Rampage down. I think he loses via TKO /cuts.

Lol at anyone knocking bonnar out. Have you seen his fights? Also, Rampage has looked like shit as of lately. Slow, flat footed, only relying on hail Mary hooks. Bonnar all day if this fight does happen. He'll outwork page

I feel the same way. Bonner has the chin, durability and ground game to cause fits for Quintin.

Bonnar is so underrated. His game has improved a ton under Sergio Penha and One Kick Nick. He is going to be an underdog in this one and im going to win some cash haha!

Rampage just wants this fight cuz he knows he can knock out Bonnar if he clips him once and he needs a KO win. However I'd MUCH rather see him fight Shogun in Japan. But since that's not gonna happen, I could care less who he fights really, he's always entertaining...Maybe Tito actually that makes the most sense...
