He got his fame because he was a local boy who with charisma and a flashy style who had success in a town that only has one major league team. And for the third time, the idea that Cung Le was leading the charge for San Shou against mma when he hasn't competed in a kickboxing match in 6-7 years is silly. He trains at AKA, fights mma, so exactly does this scenario:"Wanna go watch some San Shou? I would but I'm gonna go catch an MMA event." Have anything to do with Cung Le?If you want to see Le you're going to an mma event.

Where do you think he got his following?  The answer isn't mma.  I think you are confused, possibly due to my confusing comment.

Btw,the question isn't whether Cung WAS the reason the event sold well, the question is whether the UFC THOUGHT before hand that Cung would increase sales. They may have miscalculated but that would explain why they paid Cung that amount.

I've never had anything to do with San Shou in my life and think Cung was a big fish competing in a small pond when he was doing it.I was simply making the point you sound ridiculous saying that this had anything to do with San Shou fans vs mma fans when Cung was competing in an mma match and hasn't been kickboxing in 7 yrs. I'm guessing considering your efforts on this thread you have some sort of hangup against Cung.Don't get so defensive about making silly arguments.

in his defence GSP recently admitted to making 4-5 million per fight but UFC's official salary for him is like 400,000 or something

Why would they do that? The money they pay out is tax deductible. So are you saying that that both parties are intentionally defrauding the IRS?
