Munoz: Sonnen won't be going to Brazil

“Fans haven’t had the opportunity to actually see my jiu-jitsu, but I have great jiu-jitsu defense which actually compliments my wrestling and allows me to do what I do best. The Donkey Kong comes out. I get on top of someone and then boom, boom, boom. It’s just what I do.”

Sonnen’s comments regarding Brazilians have generated a strong backlash from within the country. With the UFC planning Silva’s next defense to take place in Brazil, there is a growing concern for Sonnen’s personal safety should he earn the next title shot. While Munoz validated the threat, he also suggested there is no cause for concern.

“There are bounties for Chael down in Brazil,” Munoz explained. “But he doesn’t have to worry about it, because he’s not going to have to go down there.”

I hope Munoz and Davis win. Just because it would make Dana and company stop cooking the big fights like Bob Arum and just give us what we want. Evans versus Jones is being cooked until it's million buys hot and the UFC deserves Davis winning to stop that constant bait/switch/get Rashad to talk smack. Same with Sonnen who doesn't deserve a shot anymore than Torres' tweet deserved firing. Hopefully Munoz wins so it kills the Silva versus Sonnen in Brazil so we are spared months of Dana saying "blah blah. Sick. Chael might get killed. Blah. Sick fight bro. Gotta get a tunnel if he wins. Blah. Blah. Sick. Fuck you."Maia has no shot at pulling the trifecta off but if so it would be indeed something amazing. War Donkey Kong. Don't you dare fucking be all talk and then shit the bed so Chael gets to Brazil easily.

have to agree with the questioning regarding the match making. seems like they are jeopardizing a lot of potential big $$$$ PPV's with munoz and maia playing the role of "set up" fights.

I'm a huge fan of Munoz. He's a real nice guy. I got a chance to meet him in portland the last time the UFC was there. I think Munoz would have an advantage over the previous title challengers because he trained with Anderson. I think that gives him a distinct advantage if he beats chael. I see the same thing with rashad and bones jones.
