Bas to Cyborg: Send diet aid to AC

source: twitter.com

Cris Cyborg Santos recently tested positive for Stanozolol, an illegal Performance Enhancing Drug (PED) Stanozolol (better known as Winstrol). Her win over Hiroko Yamanaka was changed to a No Contest, and her legacy was called into question.

Cyborg's camp blamed the positive test on a dietary supplement, which they say unknowingly contained the illegal drug.

MMA legend, former UFC Heavyweight champion and current HDNet fight commentator Bas Rutten has a simple solution for clearing her name, via twitter.

If Cyborg wants to clear her name, simple, send the drink to the athletic commission, let them test it. I just don't believe they put it in drinks to LOSE weight. If they DO put roids in, show the drink and her name is cleared. Its what I would do. Like I said before, they all say "I took something over the counter". What? Tell us what you took? Help your fellow fighters not to make the same mistake by accident, just saying

This. The AC may do nothing because IIRC, the cost when Sherk was contesting his suspension, it was going to cost $20k to get the product(s) tested. I would have already fired someones ass for making me lose my job, sponsorships, title and respect of the fans/mma community. To do NOTHING is pissing me off because I wanted to believe her based on the character I feel she has displayed in the past. She certainly isn't helping her case one bit, especially when she KNOWS everyone (just about) has always thought she cheated. She has GOT to do SOMETHING to clear her name. I don't want Cyborg's situation to be another nail in the coffin of WMMA because some people really like the female divisions. Cyborg's failed drug test = scapegoat for the end of WMMA (or at least 145 division) in SF like Barnett's failed drug test = scapegoat for the end of Affliction. To hell with having that hang over my head if I could provide clarity... or at least ACT like I was trying to. And if she can spare another athlete from going thru the same thing by using the suplement(s) that she did then it only makes sense she would respond in a proactive and forward thinking manner to clear her name as opposed to simply taking her punishment and saying she's sorry.  See there, dumb-ass? You had some support until you made this retarded post. I actually missed it last night and couldn't figure out why people were crucifying on pages 3 and 4 so I reread the thread. Dang boy! Cindy

Can't believe all the people missing the point, who cares if it doesn't clear her name, that's not the point. Think of it as a preliminary test, its necessary but not sufficient. If she can't even produce the legal OTC supplement in question, then this is clearly a half assed lie she's not even backing with proof. If she does, then an actual scientist/nutritionist can judge the validity of the claim, and the community can not only make a more informed decision, but see whether she irrefutably full of shit or will just have an asterisk nxt to her legacy

Lots of supplements have precursors to real steroids in them that's how they sell bc people actually get results. And most have no idea. On a drug test it will show the actual steroid

In the end, she did take the PED but if she took it willingly or not we dont know. (Didn't mean to say willingly but to her knowledge or not).
