It seems that the upcoming UFC event in Stockholm was sold out in just one hour after the ticket went to public sale.

Good job Nordic folks!

The event is now "closed due to maintenance" at Ticnet. Just before that there were only single C-level seats left.

Probably around 15000 seats

Nordic fans have been waiting for UFC event for years. No wonder the tickets went fast

I called ticnet at 9.30 and it was already sold out, but I found some expensive tickets on another site.

UFC President Dana White confirmed that the event sold out in just three hours, setting a European record for the organization.

"People have been telling me how big of a market Sweden was for the UFC and today, the fans went out and proved it," said White. "I love taking the UFC to new markets. I can't wait to get to Stockholm in April because we're going to put on a great event!"

Depends on what tickets obviously. There's always scalpers at sold out events regardless of what it is. When it comes to UFC events in Sweden tho obviously I have no idea since it's the first one but I imagine there will be quite a lot of re-selling of tickets going on for this one as everyone I talked to at least figured it would sell out.

I think the cards are almost always great, even on free-tv events. Compare it boxing buddy.

Is there a strong market for re-selling tickets in Europe? I just ask 'cuz the UFC has a tendency to blow out new markets the first time around because scalpers/ticket websites buy them all up and sell them at a premium. Then the second time they go back, there's a realization from said scalpers/ticket websites that there's not QUITE the demand they had thought, and they buy a looooot less. Not saying that's what happened of course, just interested.

Great news for the UFC. For fans that wanted tickets, go find a scalper. They are always around.

It's on free (cable) TV all over Europe for the simple reason that there is no PPV market for it (yet). From what I understand from UGs Swedes, MMA is the shit among young fight fans, but is nothing in mainstream sports. With this UFC, things are looking good for European MMA!!!

UFC is on free TV in Sweden. I watched the GSP vs Dan Hardy main event live at 5:00AM or something when I was over there.

In most of Europe MMA is unknown among ordinary folks. 15000 tickets in one hour, with a non-stellar card is impressive! There is probably not one European MMAer that is a house hold name, or is known in mainstream sports. (Puz in Poland doesn't count.)

Cause its Vegas, its not new.Honestly the UFC could take a TUF finale like BIsping/Miller which I dont know the numbers it did but I believe it was at the Palms so it couldnt do more than 2 to 3k probably, they could take that same card and sell 15k in Sweden, could probably sell 10k in Florida or other states or countries that are starved for UFC.But they keep doing it in Vegas and only the hugest fights do big numbers in Vegas, imagine Brock/Reem in UK? they would double what they did in Vegas, they would sell 20k tickets for that fight in the UK in an hour or two easily. But Vegas is the home for big fights in boxing and mma.
