Announced Weidman vs Maia score was incorrect
Last night Bruce Buffer announced that Chris Weidman had won a split decision over Demian Maia. UFC President Dana White later clarified the score, via twitter. “The score on the Maia vs Weidman fight was wrong," White said. "It wasn’t a split dec, Weidman won all 3 rounds.” The difference between a Split Decision and a Unanimous Decision can be confusing. A Split Decision is when one judge scores the fight in favor of one fighter, while the other two score it in favor of the other. A Unanimous Decision is when all three judges score the fight in favor of one fighter. A Draw is when all three judges score the fight even. A Majority Decision is when one judge scores the fight a draw, and a two judges score in favor of the fighter. A Majority Draw is when two judges score the fight a draw, and one judge scores in favor of a fighter. Win, lose, or draw, the fight was not well received by the fans cageside, who booed. Reaction on teh Underground indicates that fans watching on FOX were probably not riveted either. Related MMA gear from the UG Store
