Joey Beltran released by the UFC

Joey Beltran has been released by the UFC.

The release was notified to Fighters Only directly by Beltran himself. While sad to see his current tenure on the roster come to an end, he says he understands the decision to cut him following his loss to debutant Lavar Johnson on Saturday night.

“I am truly grateful for all the opportunities that I have received from the UFC/Zuffa. I am not sad or hurt by their decision as I know that winning is the name of the game,” he told us.

3-4 isn't too bad.  Maybe didn't want brain damage on their watch. That's might be in his future.

Completely of topic but do any of you guys know what that mystery illness was that Steve Cantwell got or didnt get that Dana said was probably going to "retire him for good" or some shit like that? They said it was serious and that he would never fight again.....then he fights again....anyone remember this?

Joey was a game fighter. He always brought it and lasted longer in the UFC than expected. May not be the most technical but he showed lots of heart. I respect that. I wish him the best and hope to see him back in the UFC someday.

Tito has only won 1 fight since 2006. Since his win over Ken Shamrock he went 1-7-1. While not 4 in a row, that's fucking worse. Win or lose I thought he was fun to watch.

He's not the best heavyweight in the game, but he atleast put on a few solid wars...Most knew LaVar would destroy him.
