MMA fighter loses chunk of ear to well-placed elbow strike

You can now add “losing an ear” to that list, as Kenneth Crowder proved that to be possible when he delivered a vicious elbow to the side of Shane Tyner’s head during their bout at Fight Lab 20. Unfortunately for Tyner, his ear wasn’t the only thing he would lose, as he would also lose the fight to Crowder.

People get cut by punches all the time too. I realize this is why Pride disallowed elbows but over time I've come to feel that its a myth that elbows produce more fight-ending cuts. Feel free to show me a statistic that proves me wrong.

I understand the need for elbows but I could do without it. More often then not someone gets cut by the elbow while finishing someone with elbows; with the exception of Jon jones has been the exception and not the rule.Comparing punches to pointy elbows makes you sound like a jackass.

I would vote you down if I could. The sport doesn't need watered down anymore than it already is. Elbows are a huge weapon in martial arts. I hate when I see people bitch about elbows. Do you think they should ban punches too? Maybe they could just get in the center of the cage and have a dance off to determine the winner. Would that make you happy? I mean, Id hate to see anyone get hurt.
