Nate Marquardt signs with Strikeforce, May/June debut expected

Guerilla journalist Front Row Brian broke the story that Nate Marquardt has signed with Strikeforce.

Glover Teixiera wasn't free agent i was referring to this morning. Nate Marquardt is. Nate's headed to Strikeforce. May/June debut

Pretty sure @arielhelwani's news is Glover Teixeira so don't expect the Nate Marquardt to Strikeforce news to drop. It's happening though

Marquardt, who competed for six years as a top middleweight in the UFC, was released by the organization in June of 2011, after he was denied a license to fight by the Pennsylvania AC for failing to meet the requirements for a TRT exemption. He then signed with the UK promotion BAMMA, but was parted ways after his delay was twice delayed.

Marquardt is likely to be a force in the Strikeforce Welterweight division, as it is not the organzations deepest.

ha ha. i knew fudd would have to make a move soon, nate is better than most of the players on his ufc roster. he is definitely better than gsp and most of the other welterweights in ufc-brand, (NEER & DIAZ BAD MATCHUPS FOR HIM) even most of the blokes at 185, he would easily smash mayhem, hendo, shields, and the count brisping.

Great to see Nate back under the Zuffa banner.I have a feeling that he will run through everyone they give him and make his way back to the UFC.He will add a very interesting dynamic to the WW division.

My forecast of the Future....Nate vs Woodley for the ww title, Nate wins, then defends against Safidean, and Daley, at the Same time Rockhold faces Kennedy with title on the line, Kennedy wins then defends against Jacare and wins himself setting up Kennedy vs Marquardt Super fight and Marquardt takes home both belts then goes back to the UFC
