Mike Tyson, Rosie O'Donnell bond over MMA love

Mike Tyson and Rosie O'Donnell bonded over a mutual admiration for and love of mixed martial arts on "The Rosie Show."

Tyson says Fedor Emelianenko is the greatest MMA fighter of all time. It helps that he's not alone in that assessment of the now 35-year old athlete, who went undefeated for ten years. But he's no longer at the apex of his career, so O'Donnell and Tyson agreed that they're currently more excited about Urijah Faber.

Tyson laughed, calling him "the little guy" and saying, "He's so cute with the hair." For O'Donnell, she loved how relaxed he was during a fight. "They have him in the headlock and they have him in the crucifix, and he's just sitting there, like he's enjoying a night with a lady of the evening," she marveled.

The 45-year old Tyson admitted that he's far too old to do it now, but he would have loved getting involved in something like MMA when he was in his prime. Part of it could be for a love of the competitiveness of the sport, but he certainly knew a thing or two about its attraction to women. He talked about how the powerful people in ancient Rome got involved with the world of gladiators for jealousy at all the women the gladiators were getting.

It seems as though Faber is the most marketable guy in that weight class, based on how much he has won in the past and how much marketing they have done of him from all the opportunities he has been given. In that sense I understand why he keeps getting the shots he does from a business and branding perspective. Is it possible that his weight division just hasn't produced enough recognizable stars yet and until it does he will continue to be their number one guy with or without the belt?I have to assume this season of TUF will take Cruz's popularity to the next level.People just need to step it up and become bigger than life in those lower weight classes, it is going to be an interesting next 12 months to see that division grow.-Sandra
