Dana White accepts Conrad soccer challenge

Last week UFC President Dana White said mean things about soccer.

"Can't stand soccer. It's the least-talented sport on Earth. There's a reason three-year-olds can play soccer. When you're playing a game when the net is that big and the score is 3-1 (and that's a blowout) are you kidding me? You know how untalented you have to be to score three times when the net is that big?"

In response former MLS player Jimmy Conrad challenged White, to a game of soccer.

"Have you ever even played soccer, Dana? Can you pass a ball, like to a teammate, instead of some guy in the 3rd row? Can you run at top speed, while holding off a defender, and aiming for the corner of the goal being guarded by a massive 6'4" goal keeper? Yeah, probably not.

"So listen, here's what I'm going to do. Because I like you, I'm going to give you the opportunity to join me and a few friends for a game of soccer. Since you believe playing soccer requires no talent, I'm sure you'll be the star. Unless you scared. Well let me know. I look forward to hearing from you."

Now White responded, via twitter.

Antonio, you have to take everything on here with a grain of salt. Most people are just taking a position and arguing it, probably out of nothing more then sheer boredom. For example, I think Soccer is boring, that is just my opinion, I know other people love Soccer, do I think a simple internet argument is going to change their opinion? Probably not. If everyone agrees though, it makes for a pretty boring time. That's why its more fun to take an extreme view and see where it goes. People on here frequently are speaking with emotion and not any sort of rational deduction, why? Sometimes its fun to post out a response that has no deductive reasoning involved.

You know, I was just thinking about some of the yanks on this forum and their mentality. Sometimes I feel like the get angry like a person who begins to realise their whole belief system is nonsense and they are making their last stand to convince themselves/others they are still right. Other times I think they are perhaps the best demonstration of the phrase "ignorance is bliss" I have ever seen. They dont know how stupid and ignorant they are coming across to the rest of the world so it doesn't bother them.They are completely content and cool. Like a crazy homeless person that believes they are the president or superman. If they could actually see what we see I think they would be horrified.

Exactly. Obviously you didnt realize i am with you.I said "how do you expect him to look terrible". You took it as a compliment towards him. It was the opposite. It was counterargument towards your generosity to him "he didnt look terrible".Sure, because he did nothing. Otherwise he would have looked terrible. As at the cross.

You mean at 1:14 when he kicks the ball out of play and it doesnt go anywhere near either another player or the goal? He looks awkward on the ball, sluggish, clumsy footwork etc. The fact that hes played in high school makes it look even worse.

I heard one of the coaches said "gap between high school and now".So he played in high school, which is something. In those years you develop your skills the fastest.And how do you expect him to look terrible, since he was just running with the ball at the touchline. Did you see his cross at the end of the video?

If you take into account hes had two days training with very little prior experience he isnt too terrible I suppose, but it highlights that all that "freak NFL athleticism" and his size means jack shit in football (the soccer kind) contrary to what some delusional folks believe.

I kind of stepped out of trolling this. But for two days of training he looked pretty good to me.
