In his last UFC bout Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites and was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic commission, meaning he would be unable to compete in professional mixed martial arts until the suspension was removed or cleared.
That however doesn't prohibit Diaz from competing in other athletic events, including sport jiu-jitsu matches. Last month it was announced that Diaz would compete in a jiu-jitsu match with world champion Braulio Estima at the World Jiu-JItsu Expo May 12th.
That match was supposed to happen, but tonight as everyone was waiting for the super fight to occur, it seemed as through Nick Diaz would not be competing. His opponent was waiting on the mat and Nick Diaz just never showed up.
Yesterday there was issues were Estima told officials he would not be able to make the agreed upon weight, then the Diaz camp agreed to a higher weight, and then Estima made the agreed weight anyway. It's unsure at this time if this back and forth made Diaz back out of the match.
