UFC President: Machida not next in line for title fight

source: fuel.tv

After Lyoto Machida knocked out Ryan Bader at UFC on FOX 4, it was all but a guarentee that Machida would be next in line for a chance to revenge his loss to Jon Jones and fight for the UFC lightheavyweight title.

After the recent UFC 151 incident, it seems that is no longer the case. Machida was given the chance to fight Jon Jones at UFC 152 on four weeks notice, and declined the fight. He will now not be next in line, White revealed in an interview with Ariel Helwani tonight. White had spoken with Machida's manager, Ed Soares, who also expected Machida to take the fight. Machida we said he didn't have the time to prepare, did not accept, and in at least White's eyes, has moved down the ladder to face the champion.

Show me a post where someone goes on and on about Jon Jones the way Thaiguy goes on and on about Rua in the above post .He does this in every thread where Rua is mentioned. On top of that he constantly makes shit up. Where does he get his info for saying that most fans believe Rua beat Machida twice. This is made up Bullshit. Has he interviewed every single MMA fan and found that a greater percentage believe Rua won both fights? Of course not. He is just talking out of his biased ass. Then he says that Vera is a tougher opponent than Bader. Really? Bader has wins over little Nog and Rampage . These are two of the big bad Pride boys from that infamous tournament that you guys think was the quintessential moment in MMA history. Vera lost 5 of his last 9 fights including a loss to 45 year old Randy Couture. Bader is top 10 and Vera is UNRANKED . He is unranked for good reason. Finally he comes up with this high light reel KO BS . That would be the KO of Bader by Machida. The Rua fight ended in a TKO not a KO. It was several punches and then the fight was stopped . It was NOT the same as Machida's BOOM one punch OUT COLD KO of Bader.

^ I don't get you Shogun haters, you always give people shit for supporting their guy. I bet if Thiaguy was talking about Jon Jones you wouldn't say shit.

hopefully for Shogun, he will be able to pry your lips from his cock in time for his next fight. It will be difficult for him to move around well with a grown man hanging from his penis.

Dana has helped grow the UFC to a certain point, but now he will only impede its growth and prevent it from being viewed as a legit sports entity by the mainstream imo

I guess Machida went from a guaranteed title shot because he "wanted it more than Shogun",,,to just being "in the mix".....what a joke

If you are a fighter and you get a title shot promise, you most likely might not, but could, but may, although unlikely, but you never know.....Machida/Hendo or Page-Glover/Machida looks nice.

Dana is giving Chael the next shot. But this is the problem with Dana and the UFC. Theres no ranking system. Theres so many rematches i.e. Edgar. Its all politics with the UFC.

This.   It was too soon for Machida - I think Bones might be in his head a bit.  That picture of him slumped unconcious is brutal.

IMO Shogun deserved the KO of the night, and the title shot Shogun pushed through exhaustion to knock Vera out cold down the stretchThat's heart. That's will powerShogun showed everything!Shogun took Vera down at will, dominated the clinch and the ground aspects of the fight. Shogun even won the stand up battle on the feet by quite a large margin etcShogun got shunned over for his performance, and has caught a lot of unwarranted hate for that fightShogun didn't deserve that.Shogun showed every facet of his stellar game against a tougher opponent in Vera. Importantly showed heart tooWhere as Machida was fighting a way easier stylistic match up for him in BaderBader ran into the pocket with his hands down and chin up.Vera would never make that mistake. He's too good a striker.Shogun had to fight for his KO over Vera. The KO wasn't handed to him like how Badger handed Machida that KO ectShogun deserved the shot more then Machida IMOShogun also has two wins over Machida, according to a majority of fansBut of course Zuffa operates like the WWE. They never do what's fair. It's about shady politics with ZuffaThen for Dana to say that Shogun showed him nothing, and that he fought like he didn't want itI mean you have to be kidding me?Shogun gives them a great fight and a high light reel KO on FOXAnd Dana wants to shit all over Shogun and throw him under the bus instantly after his hard fight?Fuck Dana. To disrespect Shogun- a warrior , and one of the best fighters to ever live, who laid it all on the line is uncalled forZuffa don't even deserve to have Shogun on their rosterIf I were Shogun I would have told Zuffa to fuck off long agoSeriously, what does Zuffa have against Shogun? Zuffa is crazy
